Never one for sitting still, in 2020 Keri embarked on a new journey as a distiller, making rum in Northern New South Wales, Australia. What was once a dream to own a rum bar in the Pacific Islands is now an adventure in the art and craft of small batch distillation, as well as the ins and outs of small business management. Keri took flight from Spain to New Zealand at three months of age and has been travelling between the antipodes ever since. Keri now freelances with a focus on adventure travel. Her approach is hands on, using participatory training to teach individuals the technical aspects of media and communication, specifically, print journalism, social media and radio. She believes the effective use of media and communication is crucial for communities that wish to play a part in their own development. |
